You may also want to browse via proxy (this uses your internet browser and you can type in the address you want to visit without going through another site). GETTING A PROXY: Using a site such as http://www.openproxies.com you can subscribe to get access to a list of open proxies including secure and anonymous proxies. Once you have access to the list just insert the address (ie. 192.168.1.1) and the Port (ie. 8080) into the appropriate spots and you should be able to browse and view everything that you need to. Note that you may have to try multiple proxies to get the speed and level of internet access that you want (some proxies are under Site Blocker control as such they will block your access to certain sites). SETTING YOUR BROWSER TO USE THE PROXY: You need to set your browser settings to use the proxy to browse rather than the default connection. This may be a better solution for your situation. For example, with Internet Explorer you would do the following: TOOLS --> INTERNET OPTIONS --> LAN SETTINGS --> PROXY SERVER (Check "Use a proxy..." Enter the address (ie. 192.168.1.1) and the Port (80, 8080, 3128, etc) and click OK. I have used this method with FireFox, Netscape, and IE without problems at various companies where certain sites were blocked. If you have questions feel free to e-mail me at no.soliciting@gmail.com as I may not check back at this post. |
