There are two words (or so I'm told) in the English language where the
letter "F" sounds like a "V". One of them is "OF". For the life of me
I can't think of the other one.

Bethc,

This question was certainly not up to my usual standard, but I think
you've answered it admirably, and you should be paid in full for your
effort. And you had the good taste not to say something like "vurtive
rustling...." I have to say, however, that concatenating "there" and
"here" with "of" sounds like cheating to me. But who am I to complain?

I was still trying not to think about English words that end in
"-gry," and now this. ;)

And I really hate to ask it, but what's a rhyme for basket?

Somehow I hear the late André the Giant's booming voice singing "A
tisket, a tasket, a gasket for a casket..."

I have thought of another answer to the question about English words
in which the letter "F" sounds like "V."

There is a product used by artists that is called "workable fixatif."
This is a substance which, when sprayed on a charcoal or pastel
drawing, prevents smearing. I have always heard "fixatif" pronounced
as "fixative," which is an alternate word for the same substance. The
word was originally French, but it is in common English use, and is
pronounced with a "V" sound by most artists.

Beauregard,

Thank you for the kind offer, but it really wasn't my answer. I just
remembered seeing it before, and would not feel right accepting
payment. I will wait for a fair challenge...

Until next time,

Beth

As the original answerer of the question, I'd say, "finder's keepers."
Google Answers is a perfectly valid resource for answering questions,
so I don't see why you shouldn't go ahead and post it as an answer.
