Are you in fact refering to the South Island Bush Wren (Xenicus
longipes longipes)?

This bird is thought to possibly still have surviving individually,
although may well be reproductively extinct--that is, there is not
enough of them to reproduce anymore.

Confirm this is the species you are interested in, please, and I will
look into on-line sources for its courtship and reproduction cycle
data.

Dear Winetone (and other researchers),

The Bush Wren is a New Zealnd extinct bird, which was last observed in
the 1970s in teh South Island. There is no information online
available on its courtship habbits.
