Question ID: 569163
What are the educational game companies within 50
miles of Stanford (zip code: 94305)?

Please provide url and street address. Educational game companies can
produce games and simulations for corporations, business schools, K-12
and government. Because game design for education is not a huge
industry you may find book publishers or entertainment companies who
produce games for learning as one segment of their business. Here are
the companies I have found https://www.riverdeep.net/,
http://www.ninthhouse.com/home.asp, and
http://www.ea.com/home/home.jsp. I know there are many purely
entertainment game studios. I am not looking for entertainment only
shops, if you are sure list them anyway as such. Thank you!

Hello,

I was looking for computer/software based games only. I failed to make
this more explicit in my description. In the end the majority of the
search results were not helpful. For example, the companies such as
Birdcage Twinson, and Learning Success produce paper games.

Worse, some of results connect to companies with educational software
but not educational gaming software (e.g Drawing Hand, Indus Valley
Software, DesignWorlds, Sibelius, Project Mountain, and Imaja)

Thankfully some of the links were helpful (e.g Learning in Motion,
Ripple effects, IFL, and Software for Kids. Software for Kids pointed
me to actual game publishers like EA, THQ whom now I need to
investigate if any of those are local.)

So in general 4 out of 15 were helpful. If you can help me narrow my
search further I would appreciate it.

Thank you.

f.g.d.-ga,

Let's make it 5 out of 15!

Soleil is definitely an educational game design company -- I can say
this with confidence because my kids own some of their games. I don't
know why their site is password-protected, but here's a link with
information on some of their products, at least:

As for others, I have to remind you of your own comment: "this is not
a huge industry". I'm just not certain there ARE many others in the
Stanford area.

However, you might want to also have a look at:

Chronic Logic
(831) 426-2330
501 Mission St
Santa Cruz, CA 95060
www.chroniclogic.com

ProtectPro Solutions
P.O. Box 470086
San Francisco, CA 94147-0086
415/928-PPRO (7776)
Fax:415/928-2656
http://www.protectpro.com/NewsGameroom.asp
[they seemed to have designed some network disaster-preparation games]

Please check thes new listings (along with Soleil).

I hope you find the list fully meets your needs at this point, but if
not, just give me a holler and let me know how I can help you further.

Good luck,
