We got a fur from my Mother-in-law who moved to warmer climate and I
was thinking about selling it.  But I don't know what it is worth and
I don't know how to make sure I get the right price.

The tags in the fur reads:

Sage Fox - Superb Quality - Ranched Fox

Size S (Long)
Made in Korea
Specialist Clean Only
Fur Origin: Finland

I can take and send pictures of it if necessary.

Overall description:

Light (silver) color, long, with light inside color.

As you have noted, you're aware that we cannot provide an appraisal of
your fur, even with a photograph. However, there is some good advice
for people who are in your position, trying to decide what to do with
a family heirloom fur. Would a link to a site that has advice for
people in your situation, including how to know how much your fur
might be worth, or even IF it is worth anything be satisfactory as an
answer to your question?  If so, I'd be happy to provide you with
links to several such sites - how many would you consider a complete
answer?

I was looking more in the direction of what a similar fur was sold
for.  I found loads of sites and such, and there is an appraisal
company not too far, but before I pay someone close to $100 to
appraise it, I want to make sure it's worth it.

I expect that you will get the best idea of the coat's price by taking
it to a local fur store  - if there is one nearby.  The quality and
condition are matters that can hardly be captured adequately on a
photo.  You can also search eBay and other auction sites to see prices
of possibly equivalent items.

I understand that, I guess I was looking for whether the fur is worth
anything to begin with.   Looking at Ebay didn't make me any wiser.

Perhaps this information will be helpful to you.

A new fur depreciates the minute you take it out of the showroom.  The
same goes for new jewelry and cars.  Your fur is worth what someone
else is willing to pay for it.

The label most likely says Saga, not Sage
