Question ID: 569247
I am researching pageantry in America and cannot find this information
for the life of me. I need verifiable data, in some kind of easy to
understand table, on the following:

1a. How many pageants exist for children under the age of 13?
1b. How many children under the age of 13 compete in these pageants?

2a.How many pageants exist for ladies over the age of 13 (up to seniors)?
2b. How many ladies over the age of 13 (up to seniors) compete in
these pageants annually?

3a. How many people (coaches, pageant owners, trainers, etc.) are
involved in the pageant industry?
3b. How much is the pageant industry in America worth?
3c. What is the breakdown of these industry dollars?

Please provide detailed breakdowns (by pageant system, age group,
etc.) when at all possible.

You'll get a great tip if you can also include similar pageantry
statistics in at least three other countries, such as Canada, England,
etc.

If you can provide partial information that I don't already have from
my own google-fu, then I will gladly pay you a sum for that as well,
but I would prefer to get all of my questions answered.

Hello Pageantpro,

I can provide you with bits and pieces of information that I was able
to locate regarding pageants.

A newspaper article in 2002 gives:
- The number of pageants a year in the United States.
- The approximate number of entrants that compete annually.
- An estimate of how much the pageant industry is worth.

A professor of law gives the following numbers in an article at an
organization formed to give aid and support to children in the
entertainment industry:
- The number of children?s pageants.
- The number of children that participate in them.

If you are interested in the partial information that I was able to
locate, you could lower the price of your question accordingly.

(You can change the price by going to "My Account,"
selecting "My Unanswered Questions", clicking on the question, and
then clicking on "Change Question Parameters" to modify the pricing.)

Afterwards, you can post another question, if you wish, to see whether
someone can find the other information you require.

Thanks,
Bobbie7

Thank you so much for still trying! I have the kiddie pageant
information but do not have that 2002 article. In it, is there some
kind of verifiable proof showing how the writer came up with those
numbers (and not just hearsay)?

And how much do you want for this one article? I'll just start a new
question for you to answer with that article...I'd like to see if this
question can still be tackled!

Hello again pageantpro,

Pageant statistics are very difficult to locate. I've been working on
this question on and off for the last few days and have not been able
to come up with anything else.

The following figures from the 2002 article were taken from another
website dedicated to pageants.
- The number of pageants a year in the United States.
- The approximate number of entrants that compete annually.
I went to that website and did not find a source for those numbers.

I don't know where writer obtained the estimate on how much the
pageant industry is worth.

Perhaps if you get in touch with the author, she might be able to give
you the source of the information.

I found 2004 contact information for the author (phone number and email.)

If you are still interested in the 2002 article and the contact
information you can post a new question for me with my name in the
subject line. If my findings are not really helful, please do not feel
obligated to post another question for me. I don't want you to pay for
useless data.

I look forward to your clarification.

Hi pageantpro-ga, You might try posting these as seperate questions,
since it seems pretty tough to locate all of this information.
Different researchers may be able to tackle each part...

When you bundle several questions together, Researchers may be
hesitant to undertake the project(s). You are likely to do better by
posting each of these items as a separate question, appropriately
priced. Thus will probably result in your obtaining at least some of
the information that you seek.

I believe that your question will require more time
and effort than the average amount of time and effort associated
with this price. Here is a link to guidelines about pricing
