Which is the better computer--Dell or Gateway?

If you were to ask me, neither because building your own would be
cheaper and also  exactly what you want/need.

but if you were to give me a choice between dell and gateway, i would
choose dell.  not because of the stupid nerd they use on the
commercials.  they are a little more expensive, but there support is
like no other.  gateway is slow with service, i have someone that
replaced 3 gateways in 2 months because of this.

heres a another true story, i had a marine come into my work office
telling me he was off to iraq in two days, and needed a new hard drive
for his laptop so thta he could talk to his family while gone.  i
called dell up, ordered the part, and was able to get him the part the
next morning.

dell's price as said before can get up there (As you customize) but
nonetheless, their support is really good.

Neither of thos is an opertaing system (OS).  Examples of OSes are
Windows, Macintosh, and UNIX.

no, but none the less, they are asking a question.  and i have
answered their question on behalf that they might not understand the
difference from OS and manufacturer.
