I am looking to hire a new employee for administrative work but this
is training for an exec position in the entertainment industry. I want
to find someone who has very good cognative skills, detail, problem
solving and ideally microsoft word, excel and generally very good
computer skills.

I have found some online testing, the problme is that it ends up being
very expensive per person so I would like other options as well. Maybe
sending PDF of a test and giving the person X time to finish and send
it back. Or if I am going to use online testing, something that I know
is very worthwhile.

Of course, I need this ASAP.

Thanks for your time and will give a good tip for extraordinary work.

Hello gagagogo-ga,

It would be helpful if you told us the name of the product that you
found helpful but too expensive. This would give us an example or
benchmark of what to look for.

I'm also not clear on what testing you require. Testing for computer
skills such as word and excel is fairly straightforward since these
skills are objectively measurable. Administrative candidates are
frequently tested for such skills.

On the other hand, administrative positions are rarely considered a
starting point for executive positions, although such upward movement
is certainly possible. Testing for executive positions is usually more
in the realm of personality testing or testing for soft skills. These
tests are not usually combined with tests for computer skills.

Please clarify what types of positions you are hiring for and what
kind of testing you need. I look forward to your clarification.
