Could someone die from eating many snails - say a snail pie - that had
ingested snail poison? It's for a script i'm working on.

Outbreaks of paralytic snail poisoning have recently occurred in Asia,
especially in China. The epidemiological characteristics of this
disease from an outbreak in Zhoushan City, China, were recorded.
Forty-two outbreaks of paralytic snail poisoning, involving 309 cases
of illness, occurred from 1977 to 2001. Sixteen people (5.2%) died, 48
people (15.5%) required intubations, and 140 people (45.3%) required
emergency hospital treatment as a result of these outbreaks.

I believe Ivanmetalnikov is referring to snails that are poisonous to
eat, not snails that that had ingested snail poison:

Poison used to kill snails is poisonous to other animals, as this and
a couple of very similar sites explain:

But the problem is dogs' eating poison pellets intended for the
snails, suggesting that a lethal dose is a teaspoon per 10 lbs.  This
would seem hard to achieve by a person eating just the snails, even
many snails.

I don't know how fast the poison works on snails.  No one would
collect dead snails to make a meal.  Indeed, where snails are gathered
to be eaten, normally the snails would not be exposed to poison, but
maybe the plot can deal with that.  Nonetheless, it seems difficult to
imagine that even a petit 100 lb human could ingest 10 teaspoons of
poison from a platter of snail pie.
