Maybe you are asking about those renegades on a bit of rock in the North Sea. I seem to recall that they claim to be a country, but it is not recognized by other countries. Vatican City is the smallest country in Europe, but it is about 1 qkm (1000 by 1000 m) in size: http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/co/?id=100182 |

Also check into San Marino, another country embodied by Italy, to the northwest of Rome (I believe if memory servers correctly) and in the mountain ridge that forms the leg of the boot. Some other small countries in Europe are: Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco. |

The Vatican is the smallest country in Europe: http://www.greatestcities.com/Europe/Vatican.html#Geography followed by Monaco: http://geography.about.com/library/cia/blcmonaco.htm Maybe feet is the wrong word. Also, in some countries a comma is used for the decimal point so that 1,200 could mean 1.200 ... (sq miles or kilometers, ???) . Apparently I was wrong before about the size of the Vatican. San Marino, Andorra and Liechtenstein are "much" larger. |
