In the 90's I saw a heavy/death metal video on MTV, maybe on the Headbangers Ball, and I need to know who sang it and what the name of the song was. I remember they said the word combine a few times and the video featured a large piece of farm equipment called a combine. I have searched the word combine many times and found nothing. I remember the singer had a deep distored death metal sounding voice. I know this isn't much information but if anyone knows please do tell. |

I wonder if the song may be "Consistently Yours, Pluto," by Thought Industry. "Probably the closest Black Umbrella comes to Thought Industry's former trademark dementia is 'Consistently Yours, Pluto', a lurching miniature epic that shifts back and forth between single- and double-time, and 4/4 and 3/4, synthesizers whining eerily under the pounding guitars and thrashing drums, Oberlin's voice wrapping itself with exaggerated care around the obtuse 'Without you I can't hug the stars, / Tip my head back and drive Cole's combine towards Pluto until my face drowns' chorus." http://www.furia.com/page.cgi?type=twas&id=twas0127 Another possibility is "Encounter With a Hick," also by Thought Industry. "The note for the Mods Carve the Pig reject 'Encounter With a Hick' says 'Held off for obvious reasons', by which I assume they mean the overly legible Jello Biafra-ish lyrics (including the line 'drive the combine to Pluto', which would end up in 'Consistently Yours, Pluto' years later." http://www.furia.com/page.cgi?type=twas&id=twas0180 |

I don't think these guys sang the song. The song I remember was sang in a death metal voice like Morbid Angel or Obituary, I think ROFL. Anyways, please don't give up on me. |

This may be a little off, but try A Shogun Names Marcus by Clutch. The singer had gruff vocals altough you could not consider the music to be death metal really, but it was fairly heavy. There was a combine in the video as well as mentioned in the lyrics. I hope this helps! |

Glad I could help. You should ask for your $ back... I guess these "researchers" are not to hip on 90s metal. |
