if you are runing a non profit raido station do you have to pay
royalties on the songs you play?

In the US the answer is Yes, but at a significantly reduced rate. Both
ASCAP and BMI have a long term contract that determines how much a non
for profit needs to pay per year. You can recieve the details by
contacting those organizations directly
