I am hoping for guidance in identifying a telemarketing firm.
I am developing a plan for a business my wife recently purchased, a
market research facility in New Jersey, USA. This business conducts
focus groups for corporate customers.
A main activity centers around recruiting, getting the right people
into their facility for a given client. For example a drug company
may want people with a certain disease, an automobile company may want
people who own certain vehicles, etc. These people are paid a fee to
encourage their participation. At present the business uses an
outside service to recruit for each focus group. This service
maintains a database of people who live in the area and who are
willing to participate. The people have all answered a detailed
survey, allowing them to be categorized by a number of factors.
The plan is to bring recruiting in-house and this requires building a
database from scratch -- this is where we seek telemarketing services.
We will rent lists of local residents and call them, inviting them
to complete an online survey and become part of our database of
potential recruits. The task of the telemarketer will be to briefly
explain all this and get the person to provide their email address,
then send them a link to the online survey. Alternatively if someone
were interested but unwilling to provide an email address, we might
mail them a postcard from here with the link. We are talking about
maybe 10,000 phone calls.
Finding a telemarketing company by going online is a very tricky
thing, hence this post for expert advice. I would hope to get some
sort of qualified list -- companies that are legitimate, not
fly-by-night, that might be interested in outbound telemarketing
(inbound seems to be the holy grail for these companies -- so outbound
perhaps attracts the more fringe operations). And ideally not in
India -- a US or Canadian based business is preferred as we would like
to visit them and India is an enormous trip.
