My husband dredged up this article on AOHEll that reported on a study
done somewhere on the effect of soda on weight gain. The investigators
claimed that drinking a certain amount of sugar soda caused weight
gain, which was no surprise. But they also found that drinkers of diet
soda got fatter than anyone. So here's the question: do diet drinks
make you fat?

Yes -- and here's the science behind it:

From the Purdue website:

Who can argue with Indiana's leading university?

I have lost around 35 pounds since March 1st, using the Atkins Diet --
which contrary to urban legend is NOT a high protein diet, though you
can choose what you eat and if you want to eat only protein, I guess
you can. During most of this time of slow steady weight loss, I have
drunk at least two liters of diet pop every day.

Atkins in his New Diet Revolution book warned that caffeine tends to
make you hungry. While driving 11,000 miles in less than 2 months, I
drank a lot of caffeine-laden diet pop to stay alert, and was
constantly "starved". When I was not driving, and reverted to pop
with no sugar and no caffeine, the horrid hunger went away. I note the
first article did not state whether caffeine was in the diet pop or
not.

I have lost 40 pounds in 3 months and I was on alkaline diet by Dr
Young. Of course that sodas make you fat!! Everything that contains
sugar makes you fat, bacause it's converted to acid. And as acidity
grows in your body, it stores it in fat to protect your organs. Now I
don't drink sodas, I just drink Supergreens, which is drink endorsed
by Dr Young. Thanks to that I alkalize my body and feel great. For
more information on Supergreens, check out website:
http://www.innerlightmotion.com, if you want to read books by Dr
Young, you can find them here: http://www.alkalifestyle.com. I really
recommend work of Dr Young, it changed my life and my view to health
challenges!

Best regards,
Pblo
