The HMAS brisbane was the third of the RAN's (Royal Australian Navy)
American-built "Charles. F. Adams", class guided-missiles destroyers.
(The other two were HMAS Hobart and HMAS Perth.) These ships were the
first major Australian
warships designed and built in America. They carried a complement of
20 officers and 312 sailors.

I'm diving the HMAS Brisbane in November. The HMAS brisbane was
scuttled on Sunday 31 July 2005. The ship lies in approx 28m of water,
located approximately 2.9 miles to the east of Mudjimba Island,
Queensland, Australia.

In order to make the best of my introduction to wreck diving, I am
looking for detailed plans (both section and elevations) of this class
of destroyer. I hope this question doean't lead to a breach of any
nation's national security. This is not my intention.

You can apparently obtain some detailed drawings of the HMAS
BRISBANE?s superstructure and layout from the National Archives of
Australia, if this source serves to answer your question:

National Archives of Australia
http://www.naa.gov.au/Publications/research_guides/guides/dockyard/pages/chapter03/brisbane.htm

You can also get some excellent prints of the ship?s profile, upper
decks & sections form the Navy Historical Society of Australia. If you
got one of these I suppose you could laminate it and take it on the
dive with you:

Navy Historical Society of Australia
http://www.navyhistory.org.au/drawings/store/viewItem.asp?idProduct=1250
http://www.navyhistory.org.au/drawings/store/optPriceListExec.asp

Here you will find model images and layouts of the HMAS BRISBANE which
is apparently the same layout as the C.F. Adams class destroyer USS
BENJAMIN STODDERT

MODELVERSIUM

If these work for you as an answer please let me know.

Firstly thank you for your help.

The first link involved the old HMAS Brisbane. The third link wasn't
really what I was after. The second link provides plans but I'm not
sure that I would condsier them "detailed" as they wouldn't help me
once inside the wreck. If you can find me a site where i can purchase
more detailed plans of the C.F. Adams class destroyer, which would
help me navigate once inside the ship, I would happily consider my
quesion answered.

Thanks Michael

I didn't find anything else that would prove useful. Hopefully someone
else will be able to locate something of value to you.
