Dear monicalord-ga

That?s a very interesting question because initially at least it seems
that every ant is an exact carbon copy of every other ant. In truth
however, like everything else in the world, each thing is unique.
Under a microscope each ants texture is different; bumps and folds in
different places, microscopic fibers are laid out differently, its
physical health varies and so on. In addition, each ant has it?s own
job and place in the colony?s hierarchy, it?s own memory of where it?s
pheromone trail is, and it?s own instincts. Each ant has its own
subjective experiences. Each has it?s own hunger and thirst to deal
with, it?s own perception of danger and it?s own varying degrees of
health and lifespan. Individual ants clearly make some autonomous
decisions and contributions and in turn benefit or suffer individually
or collectively from their actions accordingly.

As with snowflakes and people, it depends how closely you look.
