H2S + H2O2 -> S + 2 H20 (some people prefer writing elementar sulfur as S8, so you need to multiply everything 8 times if you use S8 as "sulfur). It is possible that under strongly basic conditions (in presence of hydroxide) the reaction would go all the way to sulfate: H2S + 2 NaOH + 4H2O -> Na2SO4 + 6H2O But sulfur is the first isolable product of H2S oxidation. |
