Op System: Windows XP Pro
Suddenly, for no apparent reason, my windows are behaving
unpredictably. Now, when I click on window titles in my task bar,
sometimes the window that I click on does not occupy my screen space.
This is happening about 50% of the times I click a window title in the
taskbar. I can see the frame of the window rising as if it is about to
appear, but it does not appear. This function used to be 100%
predictable, but now it is 50% unpredictable.
It is as though the window already displayed is defined to float over
all other windows, but, I have not issued any such ?float? command.
I have noticed that when this happens, the title of the window already
occupying the screen is gray, or inactive. This is the case close to
100% of the time the problem occurs. However, the already displayed
window should be active, as it is in the foreground. I have most of my
windows maximized all the time.
I am a highly experienced programmer/user of computers with over 30
years experience. I just do not know of any command or setting that
will vary windows between "float " and "not float ", which appears to
be what is happening.
I want answers only from highly experienced, knowlegeable persons. No
guesses, please!
Thanks,
jim
