hi there....i am totally baffled...i have been trying to figure out a
title for an old classic movie i really like......can anyone help
me.....here are the details....its a 40's movie (slight chance its a
late 30's or early 50's ), its black & white, & heres a small
description......its about 3 women who receive a letter saying they
could possibly be the mom of a child they gave up years ago - the
reason they got the letter is because there was a plane crash on top
of a mountain & the only survivor was this little boy.....one woman
played the tuff broad type , one woman i believe worked for a
newspaper & i believe all the women were secretive about giving up
their baby.......they all end up meeting at the airport wondering if
its theirs - some hoping some not hoping.....well hopefully theres a
classic movie fan out there....thank you very much :)

Hello Swanlake,

The movie you remember is the 1950 film ?Three Secrets? directed by
Robert Wise, starring Eleanor Parker, Patricia Neal and and Ruth
Roman.

Plot Summary for Three Secrets

?A five-year-old boy is the sole survivor of a devastating plane crash
in the mountains of California. When the newspapers reveal the boy was
adopted and that the crash occurred on his birthday, three women begin
to ponder if it's the son each gave up for adoption. As the three
await news of his rescue at a mountain cabin, they recall incidents
from five years earlier and why they were forced to give up their
son.?

"? a boy is involved in a plane crash in the mountains. Boy was
adopted by parents who were killed in crash. Boy survives crash 3
women gave birth to a boy same day.& gave up for adoption to the same
shelter. Whose child is this? Does anyone care? Yes it is a good film
very absorbing & very well acted. 3 very good actresses Eleanor Parker
Patricia Neal & Ruth Roman are the 3 women in despair, and give very
fine performances. Direction is very good also by future Oscar winner
Robert Wise.
