Open the Windows volume control utility (click on the speaker icon on the task bar) or use the Windows control panel to open the Sounds and Multimedia icon, and disable or mute the microphone input. Even without a microphone connected, the mic input will cause distortion and noise on the audio output with any sound card. |

Do the same procedure as noted also to the "line-in" volume as well. |

This should be fixed by getting a decent sound card. On low end sound cards electronic noise can "leak" into the circuit / cables causing audible feedback. I had the same problem on my PC but it was resolved when I installed a Soundblaster Audigy. This can also be caused by having power cables wrapped around your speaker cables. The alternating current can cause induction in the speaker cable which causes a buzzing sound. Before buying an expensive soundcard I would check your connections thoroughly and rearrange your cables so the speaker cables are completely seperate from the rest of them. Hope this helps. |
