The Korean General Choi, Hong Hi (the founder of the martial art Tae Kwon Do) is credited with forming South Korea's 29th Infantry Division, also known as the "Fist Division" in 1953. In a series of interviews with Dr He-Young Kimm in 1998 and 1999, General Choi described the division's insignia as being a fist over the Korean peninsula. Please could you find a clear digital image (the larger the better) of the Korean 29th Division "fist over Korea" insignia. I would also appreciate any information on the history, active service etc. of this division since it was formed. |

Can't find the "Fist over Korea" insignia, but here is a link to pictures of ROK insignia including the 29th Infantry Division. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/rok/army-units.htm |

Thanks for the site link. Unfortunately the 29th infantry division is not listed. I can only assume the site covers current units and it has been disbanded. For info the 29th division was attached to 2nd Corp. |
