I am looking for the name of a group which recorded in the early 80's
(or possibly late 70's). Some of the lyrics are as follows :

'Dust is singing, dust is dancing, dust is dusting over my eyes'

You might try listening to some of these clips to see if one of them
might be the song you are thinking of. If so, please let me know:

I had a look at Shazam and it looks like I'm wrong - it will recognise
any music - that is, apart from mine which it couldn't trace.

I have got some more lyrics off track 5 of the album - I think these
are correct but apologies for any spelling errors!

Cincuenta por ciento
In the dark
Cincuenta por ciento
You've no idea what's beside your heart
Cincuenta por ciento
Scratch my head
Cincuenta por ciento
I don't understand what you said
Oh el paso
I don't know what you know
Obviously
Cincuenta por ciento
What a mess
Cincuenta por ciento
It's just a question mark against your heart
Cincuenta por ciento
You've got me thinking, righteous one
cincuenta por ciento
You're the bit that doesn't fit
Oh el paso, I don't know what you know
Obviously

(Then a fair bit of what sounds like spanish - probably a translation
of the English)

Hope this helps!

If this is the song you can look up the credits at IMDB.com .

It mentions Sing, dust, dancing, eyes

Musical: Cinderella
Song: Ten Minutes Ago

Prince: Ten minutes ago, I saw you
I looked up when you came through the door
my head started reeling
you gave me the feeling
the room had no ceiling or floor.
Ten minutes ago, I met you,
and we murmured our how do you dos
I wanted to ring out the bells
and fling out my arms
and sing out the news.
I have found her, she's an angel,
with the dust of the stars in her eyes.
We are dancing, we are flying,
and she's taking me back to the skies!
In the arms of my love, I'm flying,
over mountain and meadow and glen.
And I like it so well that for all I can tell
I may never come down again.
I may never come down to earth again.

Cinderella: Ten minutes ago, I saw you.
You looked up when I came through the door.
My head started reeling
you gave me the feeling
the room had no ceiling or floor.
Ten minutes ago I met you
and we murmered our how do you dos.
I wanted to ring out the bells
and fling out my arms
and to sing out the news.

Prince: I have found her.
Cinderella: I have found him, he's the light of the stars in my eyes.
Prince: We are dancing
Cinderella: We are flying
Prince: And she's taking me back to the skies
Cinderella: In the arms of my love, I'm flying over mountain and meadow and glen.
Prince: And I like it so well that for all I can tell I may never come down again.
Both: I may never come down to earth again.

Hi - no , unfortunately these are not the lyrics. The ones quoted are
quite specific. Some other lyrics from the same track are as follows :

'Days of long needles, nights of sharp heat'

I am happy to send MP3s of the tracks to anyone who wants them if this will help!

if you have an mp3 (and are in the UK) there is a service called
shazam - you can go to their website - http://www.shazam.com/ -- NOT
.co.uk which will probably embarass me should anyone check the
internet log at work!!(Adult toys if you're interested.)
You can play a tune into your mobile phone by calling 2580, and
usually, if the tune is modern and not classical, it texts you back
within a few minutes with the name of the song and artist - costs
about £1.
If you're in the US maybe someone here knows of a similar service.

Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge, these services only work
for what is being played on the radio at the moment - that is how they
work. I would be surprised (but very pleased) to find a service which
can identify *any* piece of music
