Question ID: 573436
(1) Are there any airlines that fly a nonstop premium economy product
from Boston to Paris?

(2) Whatever the answer to question (1), how can you book a flight
from Boston to Paris on one airline (the one with premium economy if
it exists, otherwise American Airlines) and return on Virgin Atlantic?
None of the big websites (Orbitz, etc.) will let you book premium
economy at ALL, and when I go to the Virgin Atlantic website they'll
only let you book flights to cities they serve (e.g. NOT Paris). I
want above all to have a nonstop in both directions.

I should make it clear that I want to fly Virgin Atlantic back in
Premium Economy Class.

Oops, I forgot to point out that I am taking the Eurostar from Paris
to London, which is why I'm flying back on a different airline in the
first place. American Airlines doesn't ahve premium economy (unless
they do?)

I am not sure what you mean by premium economy, but United offers
"economy plus" seats with extra legroom (same hip and shoulder room as
regular economy) and I believe they fly from BOS to CDG and/or ORY in
Paris.

Thanks, but United does not fly nonstop BOS->CDG.

I've done a lot more research. Premium Economy appears not to exist
on ANY direct flight from Boston to Paris. And the cost of adding it
for just the return trip is prohibitive. I can get a fairly
reasonable deal on a roundtrip if I'm willing to fly to Paris via
London, but I'm not.

Air France 321 and 337 fly direct from BOS to CDG. Both flights use
Airbus 343 wides with a 2-2-2 seating configuration. Virgin Atlantic
11 flies non-stop from London's Heathrow (LHR) to BOS. Premium economy
isn't a language either of these airlines speak.

Icelandair 630/542 flies BOS to CDG via Reykjavik (KEF) and back from
LHR via KEF. Icelandair allows you to stay in Reykjavik up to seven
days each stopover, so you can see another country without extra
airfare. Iceland is beautiful.

The non-stop service runs about $1200. With stops, the fare drops to
about $400. The business class fare for the Icelandair flights is
$1500.

Transatlantic flights are a dawdle, though not nearly as bad as my
baker's dozen NY and DC to Japan, Singapore, Hawaii, and Guam flights
*shudder* . Pay the money for the biz class and enjoy it-- you only
live once, right? I expect with some hunting you can find a business
class fare for less.

Sorry, meant to say that Premium Economy isn't a language either of
these FLIGHTS (the Air France ones) speak. Vigin's Premium Economy is
nice, a wider seat with more legroom. Sure looks comfy, but I'll bet
it isn't cheap.
