I need to use Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) to authenticate
to a custom Java application. I need to do this for both local
windows security principals and ones that exist in a domain. I would
like to use SASL from the Java application to ADAM.

I followed the directions in RevGuide_adam.DOC that comes with ADAM to
create a partition called "O=Microsoft,C=US".

Can I add a Local Windows User to this partition or do I need a new
partition? Please let me know the steps to do this.

How can I write a Java application to authenticate this Local Windows
User by connecting through ADAM over SASL? Please be specific about
the steps and examples.

How can I add a Windows Domain user to the ADAM partition and do the authentication?
