Need date and text of statement by Baker & Botts, as attorneys for
Halliburton directors, admitting conspiracy to commit bribery.

I doubt that Baker Botts "admitted" that Halliburton Co. was guilty of
conspiracy to commit bribery.  (If it did, I presume that Halliburton
would be duly indicted and convicted, and probably lose its federal
contracts.)

However, a Baker Botts attorney was "concerned" that "people may at
the time have been planning or contemplating the necessity of money
for the purpose of making bribes":

Thanks for the info, the Dallas News quotes James Doty, an attorney
with Baker and Botts, who as I remember it was representing the
independent directors as saying there's no way to read these materials
and not be concerned about - - - a plan to commit bribery.
