Question ID: 573901
How many chemical industry companies are there in each of the
following geographical regions aggregated by region?
1) Europe, Middle East and Africa (excluding UK and BeNeLux)
2) UK, BeNeLux and the Americas
3) Korea and Japan
4) Greater China (Including Australasia, Malaysia, India and SE Asia
generally but not Korea and Japan).
By chemical industry companies I mean any producing, manufacturing,
refining, mining or processing any chemical or petrochemical including
oil and gas companies. I realise you will need to make certain
assumptions to answer this, like, for example, only consider
organisations with more than 20 employees. If you can get an answer
only by making certain assumptions I would still like to have the
answer but with the assumptions stated. Companies can be whole
companies or a subsidiary of companies involved in the same field of
work in the same region.

Are you asking about companies with headquarters in these regions, or
with operating facilities in the region?

For instance, Dow is a US-headquartered company, but probably operates
in a dozen or more countries around the world.

I'm really asking about companies with operating facilities in the
region so taking Dow as an example I know they operate in the US and
Netherlands, and probably many other places, so they would count as at
least 2. So, yes I mean opertaing within not headquartered within.

Thanks.

If this metric is too difficult to find, then headquartered within
would also be a useful metric to have and I could use this as an
alternative.
