Are there any industrial uses for clean, very fine sand? Our sand
averages 99% passing 50 mesh and 40% passing 200 mesh.

There are a number of commercial uses for fine sand, including:

--manufacture of sand paper

--manufacture of concrete, sandstone, and other composites

--bagging of sand for children's sandboxes

--sand for sand traps on golf courses

--sand for use in brick-making

--sand used as pool liners

--aquarium tank sand

and so on.

Of course, a major cost of buying and selling sand are the
transportation costs, so your location would be an important factor in
exploring any commercial opportunities.

Please let us know in a bit more detail what sort of information you
are seeking, and perhaps we can help you out.

Taking into consideration pafalafa-ga's comments, what form of answer
would be proper for this question?

Would a simple list of commercial uses for fine sand be enough?

Thanks!

Would you have a list of businesses I can contact to find out if this
sand is marketable? When this sand dries, it is like a powder. We
are located in Michigan.

Hi!

Would consultants even those not in Michigan but located in other
states be ok with you?

Thanks!

I was able to find a number of certified mineral appraisers at the
website of The American Institute of Minerals Appraisers (AIMA). Some
of those mentioned are already in my initial lists but there are more
companies in the following page:
