Hi,

I am a webdesigner and one client wants to be able to upload an Excel
file with some financial data and based on this file the accounts of
his site members to be updated accordingly.

In developping the website I use Flash + actionscript and ASP.

Please tell me what would be the best way to parse that Excel file and
how to store the parsed info.

Thank you very much.

I don't know about ASP, but perl has modules to parse excel files
effortlessly. One such module is here:

Others can be found at cpan.org with the keyword "excel"

Apparently this can be done using Microsoft COM (Component Object
Model), but I really have no idea how it should work. I would need an
answer along those lines.

Thank you for your input.
