Good afternoon smtr and thank you for the question.
In my search, I came across a lot of ophthalmologists in the San
Francisco area, however I think I have found a medical center that you
would benefit from rather than a single doctor.
The California Pacific Medical Center has a Department of
Ophthalmology which is based in San Francisco. Their contact
information is:
2100 Webster St, #219
San Francisco, CA 94115
phone: 415-600-3937
fax: 415-600-6586
email:CPMCeyelab@sutterhealth.org
You can see a list of their staff at:
They also have the Center for Low Vision Rehabilitation. They deal
with site problems such as macular degeneration and diabetic
retinopathy and work towards rehabilitating individuals with these
visual impairments. To learn more about their services, you can
contact them at:
Department of Ophthalmology
2340 Clay Street, 5th Floor
San Francisco, California 94115
Phone (415) 600-3901
Both are part of the Pacific Vision Foundation (PVF), a charitable
non-profit organization and the fundraising arm of the Department of
Ophthalmology.
For more information, you can contact them at:

Additionally, I have come across a website that list ophthalmologists
in the San Francisco area, 178 in all, however I am unsure if they are
board certified or not. You can view their names and addresses for
free at:
)
However, there is a small fee to receive a detailed report on any of
these doctors. The first report is only $ 7.95 and $ 3.95 for each
additional report. Each report contains:
1. About Specialties
2. Board Certification
3. Education and Training
4. Governmental Disciplinary Actions (state and federal disciplinary actions
(if any) from the previous five years)
5. Quality Comparison
6. Physician Characteristics
7. Quality Ratings for Area Hospitals
8. Directory of Area Hospitals
9. Checklist of Additional Questions to Ask

The American Board of Medical Specialists is a free service you can
use to search for ophthalmologists, however you do have to sign up to
search. Additionally, while it does list names of Board Certified
specialists, it does not give an address for them I found that most
of the 155 listed were also listed in the above referenced link.

I hope this answers your question. If you need any further
clarification before rating, please do not hesitate to ask! Please be
advised that as of Sept.30th I will be unavailable to do any follow up
on this question. If you need anything else, please get back to me
before then, otherwise I'll be unable to help.
