I have Adult Friend Finder as a past search. I would like to eliminate this as others can see I have searched here when they click on to type in what they are looking for. How do I eliminate adultfriendfinder from the area where I initially search for something? |

Hi blatt28, Thank you for your question. Your broswer's AutoComplete feature is at work! To clear (delete) previous search terms (contents) that start to show as you type in a new search term for Google: - Click on the Tools menu - Click on Internet Options - Click on the Content tab - In the Personal information section, click on the AutoComplete button - Click on the Clear Forms button - Answer Yes to the resulting confirmation Your Google AutoComplete history, as well as the AutoComplete history for any other web forms is now erased. ***** To delete the list of sites you've visited, whether you found them via Google or got to them some other way, you need to clear your browser's history and cache. In Internet Explorer: - Click on the Tools menu - Click on Internet Options - Click on the General tab - In the Temporary Internet files section click on Delete Files - Make sure Delete all offline content is checked - Press OK - In the History section click on Clear History and answer Yes to the confirmation - Press OK ***** If you are using the Google Toolbar: - Click the options button on the Google Toolbar - Turn OFF drop down search history - Press OK (Repeat the process to turn it back on) ========= search: personal knowledge ========= Best regards, tlspiegel |

Clearing your history will wipe away a whole lot of your settings. Tools Internet Options There's a button that says Clear History. It will erase names of all sites you've been to. Another way is to clear your list of recently opened documents 1. Close all programs (makes this easier) 2. Right click on your start menu 3. Click Properties If you are not using windows xp, skip steps 4 & 5 4. Click the tab at the top that says Start Menu 5. Click Customize 6. Click the tab "Advanced" at the top of this new window 7. Click the button towards the bottom that says "Clear List". Clearing your history is the most effective, but the last method is the most subtle and I'd imagine that if you were trying to conceal something like that you'd want to do it in a manner where it didn't look like anything was being concealed. |
