I'm looking for historical significance to a bridge being built from the United States to Canada. But due to Canada's use to the Metric sytem and U.S. Use of a different sytem a miss calculation occured. The question i'm asking is, What bridge and info related to the topic |

im pretty sure the blue water bridge between Sarnia (ontario) and Port Huron (michigan) that happened, and the americans had to recalculate. i beleive that was the case on the 2nd span (put in a few years ago) im not sure about the original bridge that has been across the river for a long time. |

Wikipedia on the Blue Water Bridge: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Water_Bridge Especially interesting is the link to the construction history of the Blue Water Bridges: http://www.michigan.gov/documents/constrhistory_16062_7.pdf Though it does not specifically identify an issue with metric/imperial measurements, it does discuss several instances of conflict between Canadian and American stakeholders. |
