I have been searching for a plane ticket from Chicago, Il to Santiago,
Chile. I fear that I may have waited too long to find a round-trip
flight under 800 dollars (including taxes and fees). I would prefer
to pay between 5 and 6 hundred dollars because I know someone who
makes regular (approx. twice a year round-trip) flights between
Chicago and Quito, Ecuador and has never paid more than 600 dollars
(including taxes and fees), and am convinced a fare in this range is
still possible. She usually flies through Houston.
I have searched through all the major internet airfare companies (i.e.
expedia, travelocity, etc.) and called a few travel agents. But to no
avail.
I will be a single traveler and qualify as an adult, with no student
or senior discounts.
The dates of travel are November 14 2005 to March 7 2006. These are
rough dates and aren't set in stone. I am trying to fly during these
weeks. I want to arrive in Santiago during this week (starting Sunday
Nov. 13), or if it's the only way to get a low fare the next week. I
need to return to Chicago no later than the 10th of March and don't
want to leave Santiago until March.
I would prefer flights with only one stop, and if a non-stop flight is
found and is within my price range I would be elated. If a two stop
flight can be found that is less than 600 dollars (including all taxes
and fees) and gets there in less than 24 hours that is also
acceptable.
Another consideration is arrival time. I want to land in Santiago
between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
In my search I have found that the cheapest fairs are usually through
Houston or Miami, but that sometimes fares can also be found through
Atlanta and Dallas.
The name of the airport in Santiago is Arturo Merino Benitez and it's
airport code is SCL. I can fly through either O'hare or Midway
airports in Chicago.
I will set a price of $30 for this question and will expect a response
allowing me to get a roundtrip ticket between 7 and 800 dollars.
However, if an answer is given that allows me to find a fare under
$700 I would tip appropriately, I'm thinking $15 per hundred dollars
worth of savings from $700 (15% of value between 700 and fare cost).
I realize you can't book a flight for me, so I only expect websites or
a contact to travel agencies or whatever else may be out there that
can get me the fare I want.
This is my first time using the ask service in google, and I realize
that fares change all the time, so if this is a totally irrational
request please, one of you researchers out there, tell me so. I won't
consider it a satisfactory answer, but I will withdraw the question
and not waste anymore of your time than is neccesary.
Thanks in advance |
