I have an idea for a revision to a product(start with something and add to it). How do I go about getting my product patented? How do work with the parent company of the original product without revealing my idea to them? I need details from scratch to marketing with steps and links as necessary. Thanks for your help! |

What you are asking for may be too much to be covered in a response here. You should go to nolo.com and check out http://www.nolo.com/resource.cfm/catID/00E99E7C-76B3-406F-AE703233C2157E4E/310/101/ Once you are done browsing that page and links go to http://www.nolo.com/product.cfm/ObjectID/139AEDE9-69A0-4810-A7A87D2AD5422664/update/1/310/#summary and buy 'Patent it yourself' you can get it on hardback for 43 bucks or in electronic format for 38, it answers all of your questions and much much more. Good luck! Elí ps. if you live in the northern VA area I know that the Fairfax library has an electronic version of it, you can check it out for 4 hours at a time at http://fcplcat.co.fairfax.va.us/uhtbin/cgisirsi/DsL5K6Tay8/CENTREVLLE/74070038/9 your local library should have it as well, although not necesarily in electronic format. |
