The British comedian, Lee Evans released a number of "shorts" on video/DVD under the name of "The World of Lee Evans". It dates from about 1994/1996. In one of them, he plays a gas station night attendant on his first ever night. Someone turns up for gas/chips/sodas/music and has to mime all his requests through the glass (the door is locked to discourage robberies). In one of the scenes he picks out a music cassette and plays it over the station tannoy (to see if the guy likes the music). I am pretty sure the song is a swing version of "i'm in the mood for love", featuring a man (Louis Armstrong?) and a woman duetting. The two characters "sing" along to the song through the glass (with Lee Evans taking on the part of the woman, wearing a mop-head as a wig). Needless to say it ends in a rousing crescendo as he lets the guy in to the station, whereupon he promptly produces a shotgun! What is the version of the song in question? Is it "I'm in the mood for love?" and where can I get hold of a copy? Many Thanks Toby |

Hello, the answer is the Late John Lee Hooker and Bonnie Raitt. The song is indeed "I'm in the mood" (for love). The song was featured on John Lee Hooker's 1990 album "The Healer". It should be known that John Lee wrote this song. This specific version was recording in the late 80's early 90's. Bonnie and John jammed over the tune for 30 continuous minutes, the sound engineers did the rest.
