I recently came back from a trip to China. While there, I mailed
boxes via China Post (the Chinese postal service) via air mail. Do
you know how long it takes to arrive in the states. I can't find any
web site where I can track my package.

I used China post before. There is no online tracking system avalible.
For mails and small packages, if you choose Express mail, it will
arrive in about one week. If you choose air mail, it will take about
two weeks. For large boxes via sea shipping, you might have to wait
for 2 month. However, these rules only apply for normal conditions. If
you were unlucky, you might encounter a strik or something, that might
delay the delivery for one month or so. But it's very rare that you
will lost your package. You just have to be paitent.

Hi! I am from China. If you used China Post you can NOT track the package.

Usually it will take around 30 days, even by air to your package.
Sometimes it appears at your nearest post office. Please check there!

hi, you can find something here
http://www.chinapost.gov.cn/English/index.htm

because my English is poor, I can't read it clealy.
But the air post would take 1 week and a half if the mail goes to US.

Hi, I also am expecting a box I sent via China Post seamail, mailed
from Guilin on 22 August 2005, to arrive in Paris around the end of
October...
It's now November 10th!

The French post office says they can't track items coming from China -
and tell me to contact customs.

French Customs tells me they need a "dispatch number" or a "mail
number", in order to see if the item has passed through them, but the
numbers on the 2 receipts I have from China Post don't seem to be
sufficient for them....They tell me to contact the China Post office
from where I sent the box!

I have the phone numbers of the China Post office in Guilin, but am
not looking forward to trying to find someone there who will sort-of
understand my questions....and even I can't explain WHY I need another
"mail number" that's not on my receipts...

confused, and upset....any suggestions?
