from 1848?It is in excellent condition but non graded.

The first site lists Charlotte 1848 5 dollar gold coins for $ 1300 and 1700.
(Just for fun, I calculated that that is only 3.78%pa annual interest
if it is now worth $1700, but as a seller, you probably won't get that
much.)

The second site tells a bit about minting back then, and the last one
leads to many other sites on the subject, somewhere apparently to my
search term:
"5 OR five dollar gold" NC or "North carolina"
