The Australian Film Commission ?AFC? produces a useful document on the
Australian Film Industry titled ?Industry Overview, Employment as of
May 2005? It contains a great deal of statistical information on the
industry including the numbers of people working in audiovisual
industries and includes the fact that that in Film/video production
for 2001 0.7% of the employees are indigenous Australians. Please note
that the AFC state that the ?data on Indigenous Australians added by
AFC from unpublished ABS data?. You will be able to work out the
exact numbers from the 2001 total supplied in the report.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics state that
* In 2002?03, there were 26 feature films made in Australia, as
well as 54 TV drama programs. Of the TV drama programs, 20 were series
and serials, 12 were mini-series, 6 were telemovies and 16 were
children's programs.
* In 2002, the percentage of films screened in Australian cinemas
that were of Australian origin was 10%.
* Film and video production businesses in Australia employed a
total of 16,427 people in June 2003.
