I own a company in the USA and am about to start to sell areas via a
franchise. I need to source a company or service that helps you break
out the ares by population and driving distance. I would like to get
the country into 250 areas. I really need a template that can create
the areas for me.

I located the following source for obtaining the
information you need: Empower Geographics, at:
http://www.empowergeo.com/index.htm

As you will see from their website, they provide
software solutions to address many business needs,
However, you seem more interested in obtaining
a one-time result of such software, on a consulting
basis. Therefore, I called their toll-free number
from this page:
http://www.empowergeo.com/pages/contacta.htm
and spoke to a representative named Sinam.
He assured me that they could utilize their
software and databases to arrive at the information
you are seeking, and provide you with a breakdown
of the USA into 250 sections, taking into account
population and driving distance. If you require
a template in addition, I believe they can assist
you.

Sinam noted that he would have to clarify with you,
via a couple of phone calls, the manner in which
you wish to incorporate the drive-time or driving
distance factor into the data you are seeking,
but assured me that his company is capable of
arriving at the results you require, in a
reasonable time, and for a reasonable fee.

I gave him my email, and he quickly sent me the
following reply:
_______________________________________________

"It was good talking to you today."

"We are happy to provide an estimate of work for
producing 250 region/territories based on
population and drive times with your client."

"We have some options in terms of datasets to use
and output deliverables, but a few conversations
with the client will produce the information
required for a time/budget estimate."

"We have recently changed our website, so below
please find some useful links."

I apologize. I meant to include my search strategy,
which is something researchers routinely do. This
will allow you to look among the search results for
alternatives, if your contact with Empower Geographics
doesn't pan out, although I would be glad to further
assist you, should that be the case.

Searches done, via Google:

"franchise boundaries" + US
://www.google.com/search?num=50&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=%22franchise+boundaries%22+%2B+US

"franchise boundaries" + "by population"

"franchise boundaries" + "driving distance"

Note: The latter two were unproductive.

I received a call just now from EmpowerGeo,
thanking me for referring you to their
services, and indicating that they had
been able to satisfy your business needs.

I am pleased to have been of assistance,
and hope your franchising enterprise is
successful.

It would be exciting to know what the name
of the franchise will be, so that I could
follow its progress as time goes on,
however, I would understand if you prefer
to keep this information to yourself.
