Please see if you can answer this. What sickness does she have

My friend ate a lot of smoked salmon, spare ribs and drank a lot of red
wine in Jan 2003.
Next day she was sick, not vomiting or anything, must nauseous. We think
that heavy meal triggered something.
Since that time she has been experiencing what we call turns.
They start in the diaphrapm, very hot and work out until they reach the
arms where the arms sometimes are goose pimples. The woman is 56 now. At
first they would come every 20 minutes, then ever half and hour, then
every hour - ON THE DOT. She ws then given Isoptin but after a while even
240 mgs couldnt control them.
The turns last about 10-20 seconds. She doesn't now feel anything except
at the beginning she stopped what she was doing until they passed. She
does now because she is still trying to think what they are. Infact she
fights them now, taking deep breaths, holding her chest, looking at
beautiful things and just telling them to GO.
She is post menopausal and does nt think it is hot flushes because when
not on medication she can have 12-18 a day.
She take Isoptin now although the turns are coming though about two a day.
She has been to cardiologists in Kenya, South Africa and UK who say
nothing wrong with the heart.
She has been to brain specialits in the UK. Nothing
She has been to hormone specialists in the UK. Nothing.
She has had a pap smear. Nothing.
She has had an edoscopy. Slight acidity in the stomach for which she is
being treated.
SHE HAS NO CANCER.

Can any of you think what these turns might be and how could she get rid
of them. You usually need to be paid something for your answers, so let
me know please.
Best wishes and heres hoping.
