Assuming that "national insurance" is a "social insurance program [..] based on contributions from employers and employees; provides payments to unemployed and sick and retired people as well as medical services" (://www.google.com/search?q=define%3A%22national+insurance%22), such a tax would compare to the Norwegian "trygdeavgift" (paid by employees) and "arbeidsgiveravgift" (paid by employers). According to the reliable Norwegian publication Økonomisk rapport, there are no equivalent of "trygdeavgift" and "arbeidsgiveravgift" in Denmark: http://www.orapp.no/oversikt/Argang_2005/32003/jobbliv/32111 However, employers pay an "arbejdsmarkedsbidrag" (labour market contribution) of 8 percent: http://www.skm.dk/tal_statistik/skatteberegning/1372.html?rel |
