Hello all,

i am desperately looking for a USB Cable for my digital camera. I was
on a trip and accidentally lost it.

I have tried to look on the web for one, but with no luck.

It has to be a cable for the above camera (Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P100
Digital Camera) and one end has to be USB (in order to attach it to my
PC) - the other end has to match my camera.

Plese help !!

To order your cable online, you will want to go to the Sony "Direct
Accessories & Parts Center" (DAPC) web site.

Once on that web site, please do the following to order the cable.

- Enter in the Search box: 182910911
- Check the circle next to: "Part or Accessory Number ..."
- Click on the "Search" button

This will produce the "CORD, CONNECTION (USB)" for your camera.

On the next page, click on the "Add to Cart" button.

You can then go through the rest of the purchase process for the
USB cable for your camera.  The cable costs $38.40 and there is a
$6.95 Shipping and Handling (Standard Shipping) charge.  If you
need it faster than the 5-7 business days the standard shipping
provides, you can pay more for faster delivery.

As Sony has a physical presence in all 50 states, there will be
sales tax charged as well.

If you do not want to order the cable through the web site, you
can call 1-800-488-7669 and order it (Part #182910911) over the

How do you know that is exactly the cable for my camera? It doesn't
show my Camera Model anywhere, and there is no picture of the cable to

If you go to the DAPC site and do the following:

- Enter in the "Search" box: DSC-P100
- Click on the "Search" button

This will produce the accessories specific to your camera, which
includes the USB cable that you want.  No illustration is provided
in that search either.

I had also called the toll free number provided in my answer to
your question and verified that the cable is indeed the one for
your model.

Is there a plug on the camera besides that one on the bottom? It looks
like (surprise) some crazy proprietary connector.

A dock for that camera (model CSS-PHA) costs about $130 from Sony:
