Hi Paul,
Since the most recent reference I could find for the present location
of the forged painting "The Supper at Emmaus" is 1996, I'm posting
this as a comment. However, if you believe this suffices as an answer
to your question, please let me know and I will post it as such.
THE MASTER FORGER OF VERMEER (April 9 - July 7, 1996)
"On the occasion of the Vermeer exhibition in the Royal Picture
Gallery Mauritshuis the Bredius Museum organised a small exhibition
with the most famous Vermeer forgery as its main subject: Supper at
Emmaus by Han van Meegeren. This painting was published in 1937 by
Abraham Bredius in the Burlington Magazine as ?A new Vermeer?. Now, 50
years after Bredius? death in 1946, new research has revealed that
initially, when the painting was shown to him in Monaco, he had his
doubts about its authenticity. This was proved by the recently
discovered correspondence in the personal archives of the late Dr.
O.J.G. Kronig between Dr Bredius and Van Meegeren?s representative Mr
G.A. Boon. At the exhibition the Supper at Emmaus was on view, and
also a selection of the most relevant correspondence and other archive
material was on display. An article was written for the exhibition by
Jim van der Meer Mohr, Eerherstel voor Abraham Bredius
?(rehabilitation for A. Bredius?), which was published in Tableau Fine
Arts Magazine, Vol. 18, no. 5, 1996."
