I need to find a list of dentists that provide lingual braces in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. More specifically, I would like the dentist to have offices in either Gloucester, Camden, Burlington counties or the City of Philadelphia (ranked in preferential order). I haven't been able to find any verified listings of dentists who work with lingual braces online. |

Lingual braces have fallen out of vogue since the introduction of clear braces(Invisalign, a trademarked brand, is the most common system). Lingual braces usually take longer for treatment-- which raises the cost-- and are reported to be more uncomfortable than regular braces. Of course, there can be important reasons to use lingual braces, and if your dentist is telling you that you must have this type of orthodontia, then (s)he should be able to tell you where to find such treatment. If you visit www.invisalign.com, you can search for an orhtodontist by proximity to your address. The website also has lots of other info. Just a warning-- it's expensive. Five thousand is a reasonable estimate for the treatment. If you are worried you'll look odd with regular old braces-- even as an adult-- don't be too concerned. It was nearly 7 months before anyone noticed I had braces, and I was 35. |
