Hello again billeh23-ga:
I'm sorry I haven't heard back from you. Based on your response dated
October 5th, I believe I'm basically on the right track. Since I'd
already invested a considerable amount of time in this project -- and
since there didn't seem to be any other takers! -- I decided to go
back to the drawing board and give this project another try.
I endeavored to find a program that meets all your needs: web-based
technology AND interface AND scalable AND " information sharing " AND
multiple sites AND multiple industries AND job site security.
I'm not sure that there is a program that fully matches IDVIEWS'
capabilities, but these seem to be feasible alternatives.
Regarding job entrance security, I can't find anything in the
following programs about things like smart cards. So, you might have
to supplement one of these programs with a biometrics smart card
and/or fingerprint program, such as Precise 100 MC:
http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?edc=542827
(This is compatible with the aforementioned Saflink:
http://www.saflink.com/physical/)
When you contact these companies for more information, they should be
able to advise you on which smart card or fingerprint recognition
program is most compatible with their systems.

"Key Features":
http://www.intergraph.com/iwtf/features.asp
"You can integrate IntelliWhere TrackForce with existing
infrastructures such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), work
management, and asset management systems. . . .
"Urgent jobs can be handled quickly, because the most appropriate
candidates are automatically selected according to various criteria,
such as which crews are closest and have the capabilities required for
the job . . . .
"Highly scalable, with support for industry-standard positioning
technologies and wireless networks. Maximum flexibility to scale the
system as you grow, and select the most appropriate technology for
your enterprise."
Homepage:
http://www.intergraph.com/iwtf/default.asp
"IntelliWhere TrackForce is used across industries, including
utilities, transportation, government, military and homeland security,
and fleet management. Enterprises can use the technology just for
internal workflows, or they can also offer value-added services to
their own customers. Some examples of how IntelliWhere TrackForce can
be used: . . . ."
Besides monitoring transportation and shipping: "Job-related alerts."
Example: "A government authority monitors the location and activity of
mobile workers who service sewerage infrastructure. When an urgent job
arises, the most appropriate workers for the task are automatically
suggested, based on their location, availability, vehicle type and
equipment. Mobile workers use always-connected PDAs to indicate their
status to the office at all times ? whether 'available' or 'busy'.
They can also notify the office when they are about to enter a
sewerage drain by selecting a button on their PDA. They are required
to reset the button when exiting the drain, and if this is not done
within a specified time period, alerts are raised at the head office.
This allows immediate assistance to be sent in case the worker is
suffering from sulfur dioxide inhalation."

You said you're a vendor, but I'm not sure which industries you cover.
(Most of the hits I got were for software programs specific to one
industry.)

operational-risk data that enable you to identify problems. Metatomix
consolidates this data from disparate sources and brings it together
into a single virtual view that you use to track patterns and trends
against key performance and key risk indicators.
"Monitoring Employee Activity - Operational risk involves more than
transactional patterns and trends. Metatomix can track absenteeism
patterns, record who logs into systems, and monitor who initiates
questionable transactions, potentially identifying skill gaps and
training needs as well as security vulnerabilities."

SGS

I cited this global, Australia-based company in my "Request For
Clarification," posted on October 5th. They're worth checking out:
http://www.au.sgs.com/home_au/case_studies_au.htm
Also check the drop-down menu at that page to see which industries they serve.
Under "Client References" I found "Systems and Services Certification,"

"SGS delivered an integrated solution that brings together induction
training and access management systems. In this case, the services
revolve around the SGS database, which electronically links the
training and personal information contained on the Site Access card,
with a Site Access Management System."
SGS Contact Information for North America:
http://www.us.sgs.com/home_us/about_us_us/in_brief_us
Contact information for their North American headquarters (located in
Rutherford, NJ) is in the top right hand corner.
Scroll down that page to see: "SGS North America Inc. Industrial
Services Division is a true global service provider for technical

and national and international standards, Industrial Services is your
local partner with global experience and connections. We are ready to

Underneath that passage, you'll see contact information for two SGS's
offices: one in Houston, one in Miami.
