gentlemanpirate-ga,

Poly-glutamic acid belongs to the chemical category of polyamino acids
-- polymers of the familiar amino acids that are the basic structural
units of much of living material of our body.

Glutamic acid is an ionized form of glutamate, one of the more common
amino acids in our bodies.

Poly-glutamic acid is a polymer -- a long chain composed of individual
units of glutamic acid. The chain can be varying lengths, so that
there are different 'weights' of poly-glutamic acid available.

I don't know how much is manufactured each year. However,
poly-glutamic acid can mimic the properties of proteins in some ways,
and as a consequence, is used by drug manufacturers as a carrier
substance to help deliver active pharmaceuticals to the body.

Beyond this brief overview, what sort of information are you looking
for to make for a complete answer to your question?

I have a chanced upon a new process which should greatly reduce the
cost in manufacturing this product. I have been led to believe that
this product has many many applications, and that it is non-toxic and
bio-degradable. I am trying to assess who, specifically, is
purchasing such a product so that I may contact them directly, to get
further information. I am also looking to understand the worldwide
demand for such a product so that I may fully explore the "business"
aspect.

Hi!

I did not find any resources for statistics or other data on the
market for Polyglutamic Acid. I was able to find though on what
products they are used.

Would a list of related products and corresponding manufacturers be ok
as an answer?

Thanks!
