theshot-ga,

Hard to find, indeed, but I may have a lead for you.

This site claims to have the tape for sale:

http://www.tapesofterror.com/form.html

I haven't posted this as an answer, because I want to make sure you
can actually obtain the tape from them.

Once you are comfortable that this source can actually provide it for
you, let me know by posting a Request for Clarification, and I'll post
an official answer to collect the fee you offered.

On the other hand, if it isn't available, let me know that as well.

Thanks,

pafalafa-ga

Ahhh...Shoot!

I checked with Tapes of Terror, and unfortunately, they no longer
carry Apple Pie.

So...the search continues.

While the website www.tapesofterror.com lists this movie ("Apple Pie"
(1976) directed by Howard Goldberg), it cannot provide it as the title
is no longer available from them.
Answer
There is no answer at this time.

Hi Paf,

I found this on IMDB's listing for "Apple Pie" (1976). Under the 'user
comments' section (found directly below the cast listings), astralv
says:

"Having just purchased a copy of this forgotten little oddity on an
obscure video label called North American Video (NA 1033) I figured to
watch it right away. I had been admonished by the seller that this was
an unusual movie. He wasn't kidding. After viewing it, there's no
doubt it's "Independent Cinema". That's not a bad thing, but one must
view this picture with an open mind if one is to derive any enjoyment
from it. Any viewer expecting conventional plot devices is going to be
in for a strange awakening because this movie has no real plot and has
a kind of anarchic structure to all the activities that go on. What
story there is revolves around Jacques Blinbaum (played by the
rubber-limbed Tony Azito), who appears to be a gangster nicknamed The
Falcon. His father is played by Brother Theodore at his least crazy.
Jacques then describes, in a fantasy-like way, his experiences growing
up beginning at age 17 where he gets the idea to fake his own
kidnapping and extort money from his parents. There's a kind of
surreal feel to this film and I watched it twice in one day because I
thought it was interesting. APPLE PIE appears to have been filmed
entirely on location in and around New York City. Whether one likes
APPLE PIE or not, the ending is really cool! One last thing, the video
box says "approx. 90 mins.", but it really runs only about 80
minutes."

Here's the link to the IMDB listing: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074149/

I'm not sure how readily available the contact information is for
North American Video, but I suppose it's worth a shot.

Hope this helps!
