Where in Tokyo, Japan can you get a Medallion Guarantee Signature? This is a signature guarantee required to sell/transfer U.S. physical stock certificates. They must offer the service to individuals and not just to big businesses. I'd like to know the following information: - Name of bank/brokerage in Japan that offers this service - How much they charge - Their phone number (optional: address) In the US it's offered at almost all banks (i.e. Bank of America). The US Embassy in Japan and the brokers in the US claim you can get it done in Japan but I have yet to find out where... What I have done so far: - Googled around for words "Medallion Guarantee Japan" - Called Citibank, Fidelity, and US Embassy in Japan - Asked banks and brokers in the US for referrals - Asked Fidelity, Citibank, Bank of America The guy working at the US Embassy claims there are people who got a Medallion Guarantee signature in Japan before. He also claims that they get this question all the time but no one working there knew who or where. You'd figure they'd know by now if they're asked all the time... |
