Wogone --

The pointers in this question seem to indicate that it's seeking Kelli Kuehne.

The LPGA site notes:
"In 1996, she won the British Women's Amateur Championship, as well as
the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, becoming the only golfer in
history to win those two championships in the same year."

Kuehne did not win any tournaments recently, but did win the LPGA
Corning Classic in 1999, three years after she turned professional.
It's her only win as a professional:

Wogone --

Thanks for accepting the information. The question seems to ignore
her single 1999 win (though she hasn't won a tournament this century!)

The Google search strategy here:
use the LPGA site, which has excellent player bios and do a search for
relevant terms --
amateur U.S. British

Firstly, there seem to be four players who have won the US and British
Amateur in the same year:
 - Kelli Kuehne (1996 U.S.; 1996 British)
 - Catherine Lacoste (1969 U.S.; 1969 British)
 - Pamela Barton (1936 U.S.; 1936, 1939 British)
 - Dorothy Campbell Hurd (1909, 1910, 1924 U.S.; 1909, 1911 British)

This information is from:

According to: (http://sports.newsday.com/default.asp?c=newsday&page=golf-w/stat/alltime-lpga-winners.htm)
Kelli Kuehne has one LPGA Tour Title
