Would someone be willing to do a resume and answer selection criteria
for a nursing position in Australia if I provided the relevant

I can provide all the info. I just need someone who can add the buzz
words and put my experience in so it will indicate what I have gained
in my two years as a registered nurse. I am willing to up the $ for a
quick response as I would like to have this done by Monday. Thank you.

I can help you put together a resume or a cover letter based on
information you provide, but I'm not sure what you mean by "selection
criteria". Please advise.

There are 5 key selection criteria that must be answered. I have most
of the info. eg An understand or ability to learn about Workplace
Health and Safety, Anti-Discrimination Act, Equal Opportunity. I have
all the info for that one but there is another one about Casemix -
that is where you have an understanding about getting the patient
'healed' and out of hospital as the longer they are in hospital the
more it will cost [well that is the cold truth]. Just need to give
good care so we can get them out of a bed and back into their homes.
Thanks a million. I will log back on tonight.

HI Tropical-ga,
I doubt that it is a good idea to dump your life history here and
expect someone to write this for you, especially the "buzz words".
Before someone else could do that, you would have to have expressed
them yourself.

Here are some sites that discuss the subject, however:

http://www.utexas.edu/research/eureka/resources/vitae/index.php

http://businessmajors.about.com/cs/resumehelp/a/CurriculumVitae.htm
  (with links to other sites)

http://www.asia-europe-institute.org/International-Master-Program/Docs/
(click on resume.doc to download a format)

http://www.swin.edu.au/corporate/careers/Handout_Curriculum_%20Vitae_2005.pdf

http://www.jobera.com/job-resumes-cvs/curriculum-vitae-templates/academic-curriculum-vitae-templates.htm

http://www.rushu.rush.edu/studentlife/career/medcv.html

That is probably more than you need, but you can find more by searching with:
"curriculum vitae".

Good luck, Myoarin

Dear Tropical,

I guess that I could have helped you here - I have a lot of experience
with this sort of stuff, working with recent graduates and unemployed
[that's the same where I live :-( ] as their lecturer.

I can also understand that you must be nervous and anxious to get this
job, but I would like to dissuade you from using Google Answers in
order to write your resume (that's the way they call it Down Under)
and the cover letter, of the following reasons:

(1) This is a public board. Answers can be later found on search
engines. If the potential employer Googles you or your CV later, they
will find this and might think that you're incapable of doing things
like that yourself. And not only this employer, also other potential
employers in the future might find this potentially embarrassing
information.

(2) You know yourself better than anybody else. My students are
usually non-English speakers, who - among other things - need my help
when they write their English CVs and cover letters. I **ALWAYS** have
to sit with them, because no matter how bad their English (or job
seeking skills) might be, they know themselves better than I do.

(3) As a nurse yourself, you'd know the nomenclature better than
anyone else who's not an Aussie-nurse his/herself.

(4) Writing the resume and the cover letter is like an exercise
towards the interview itself. You already practice in using the right
terms, in presenting yourself, etc.
