I am looking for a latin/south American headline printed after Gary
Hart was caught doing monkey business that said something like "don't
the Americans want a man for president?"

This would have been published in May 1987.

Can you give us a bit more context?

Is this a headline that appeared in a South American newspaper
(presumably in Spanish or Portugese), that you saw directly?

Or was it something written up in an article in a US newspaper (in
English), that made mention of the Spanish headline?

You get the drift, I'm sure. The more we know about whatever you know
about the original headline, the better the odds are of finding it.

Thanks,

It was a headline in a south american newspaper (I think with the
picture of Donna Rice sitting on Hart's lap)I think right after he was
caught in May 1987. Thanks.
